Reminder: Monthly Meeting & Demonstration 13th November – Chris Seale – Acrylic Bushland with Creek

Reminding all that our next Monthly Meeting Acrylic Painting of a ‘Bushland with Creek’ with Chris Seale is coming up on Tuesday 13th November, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Chris Seale is known for her unique style, creativity and inspiration that she brings to the art world.

She is particularly known for her beautiful contemporary-impressionistic bush, land and seascapes. Chris has many feature articles in the Australian and International Artist Magazines, and has been acclaimed for works in all mediums. Her work is well represented in many private and corporate collections around the globe.

Over the years, Chris has developed a myriad of unique techniques, had many solo and joint exhibitions; is privileged to have been frequently requested as artist in residence and has also presented numerous live demonstrations at various art events.

Both members and non members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

We have our Yarramundi Open Day on again Wednesday 7th November from 10am to 4pm.

Members and guests are invited to come and enjoy our wonderful venue with inspirational surrounds for painting, sketching, watching art DVD’s or any medium.

Come along with like minded art enthusiasts and share interests while learning more about art and the artists in our area.

7th & 21st November and 5th December

Morning and afternoon tea is provided. Bring your own lunch.

Hawkesbury Art Fair – Opening Friday 2nd Nov

Macquarie Towns Arts Society will be participating at the annual Hawkesbury Art Fair, opening on Friday, 2nd November. The exhibition will be held in the Regional Gallery, Windsor from Friday 2nd November to Sunday 2nd December 2018.

Five Members will be representing MTAS:
Beth Gibbeson, Sue Gasser, Maryanne Jones, Satya Morrison and Pat Bakarich.

The annual Hawkesbury Art Fair (since 2014) is becoming the highlight of the year for the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, showcasing the diversity of creative people in this beautiful region, including traditional and contemporary artists, designers, crafters and jewellers.

As well as a fabulous opening-night event, there will also be demonstrations and studio visits.

Organisations participating include Hawkesbury Camera Club, Macquarie Towns Art Society, Hawkesbury Community Artists, The Ferry Artists, Hawkesbury Printmakers, Hawkesbury Artists and Artisans Trail, and Piggery Lane Studios and Gallery.

This is a great opportunity to see and buy original art from some of the Hawkesbury’s best-known artists.

Come and support our local artists!

Painting Day at Yarramundi Sunday 16th September

MTAS Painting Day at Yarramundi
Sunday, 16th September

You are all invited to a Painting Day with us at Yarramundi on Sunday, 16th September. We’ll hold the activity just past the bridge crossing on the north side.

Please bring your picnic lunch if the weather is fine. We’ll do a bit of a talk, take in the beautiful scenery of the Hawkesbury River and do Plein Air Painting.

If the weather turn nasty, we’ll head back to the Community Centre and carry on with our activity.

Come along and bring your friends.

Annual General Meeting & Guest Speaker Kerri Ainsworth – Art Travel Adventures – 11th September 7:30 pm

In September, we have our Annual General Meeting followed by guest speaker Kerri Ainsworth to talk about ART Travel Adventures.

The AGM is on Tuesday, 11th September, 7.30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Proceedings this year will start at 7.30pm and then Kerri Ainsworth will follow after.

As you know, our Art Society is run by volunteers and our dedicated committee has worked very hard through the year to keep things going. A big thank you to those who have helped this year!

We are in need of new people to step up to help run the Society. We would love to see some more members helping out with the roles listed below.

If you or a friend or family member can assist please let us know. You do not need to be an artist yourself to fill these roles, but some interest in art and craft is welcomed.

We want the Arts Society to continue into the future with
many successful artistic endeavours to come, so please consider filling a role!

And don’t forget we need members present to vote!

All positions will be declared vacant on the night and anyone who needs more information before hand can email info [@] mtas.com.au or call Narelle on 02 4565 9222.

After the AGM we have Kerri Ainsworth – ART Travel Adventures

Kerri will discuss ART Travel Adventures.

Kerri Ainsworth is the principal of Art Travel Adventures. A Production Designer and Creative Director with over 25 years’ experience working in film, television and the events industries. The scope of her practice includes designing and project managing the fabrication and installation of large-scale artworks and environments for special events and public spaces.

ART Travel Adventures is a boutique art and travel company, which combines immersive cultural experiences, with art workshops in exotic locations.

They bring together master artists, skilled travel guides and local experts and include sumptuous accommodation, in historic buildings, with adventures in dining, cultural festivals and art workshops.

This includes art workshops in picturesque locations around Australia with high profile artists, to travelling to exotic overseas locations with the artist.

The inspiration behind ART Travel Adventures was to create an artist’s community; a space where creative people can learn, experiment and network.

Her workshops cater for those who want to expand their art practice, share ideas with others and meet like-minded people.
