Reminder: Yarramundi Open Day Wednesday 1st May – 10am to 4pm.

Tomorrow is our next open day. Members and guests are invited to come along to Yarramundi with inspirational surrounds for painting, sketching, watching art DVD’s, crafting or any medium.

Hawkesbury Show 2019

The Hawkesbury Show is on again 10th – 12th May!

Entries for the Art Section have to be returned by Thurs 18th April at the Showground office, by post or email. See the Entry Forms and schedules for details by clicking: here

Delivery to the Showground
Fri 3rd May, 10 – 4pm
Sat 4th May, 9 – 11am
Volunteers are needed to help hang the display on Sat 4th May, 11am until finished.

Lunch is supplied.

We will need volunteers for Duty at the Show in the Art Pavilion:
Fri 10th May: 10am – 1pm, 1 – 4pm, 4 – 7pm, 7 – 9pm(ish)
Sat 11th: 10am – 1pm, 1 – 4pm, 4 – 7pm, 7 – 9pm(ish)
Sun 12th: 10am – 1pm, 1pm – 4pm, collection 4 – 6pm

You are given 1 free Entry to the show for your Duty.

We are also looking for Art Demonstrators
On Saturday & Sunday there is an opportunity to paint/draw as a demonstrator in a small space in the display area in front of the Craft. Challenge yourself and paint in front of the public!
Sat 10am – 12noon, 12 – 2pm, 2 – 4pm
Sun 10am – 12noon, 12 – 2pm

You are given 1 free Entry to the show as a Demonstrator.

Please note *important*: You will need to carry in your equipment from where you park as you will not be allowed to drive in near the Art Pavilion on those days while the show is on.

Reminder: Plein Air at Yarramundi Reserve Sunday 17th March

MTAS Plein Air Painting at Yarramundi Reserve
this Sunday, 17th March

Reminding all that the next Plein Air Painting Day at Yarramundi Reserve is coming up this Sunday, 17th March. We’ll hold the activity just past the bridge crossing on the north side.

Please bring your picnic lunch if the weather is fine. Join us to take in the beautiful scenery of the Hawkesbury River and do Plein Air Painting.

If the weather is raining, we’ll be at the Community Centre and carry on with our activity there.

Come along and bring your friends.

Time: 9am to 3pm
When: Sunday, 17th March
Venue: Past the bridge crossing on the north side

Reminder: Monthly Meeting & Demonstration 12th February – Deidre Morrison – Acrylic Pouring and Resin

Reminding all that our first Monthly Meeting for 2019 Acrylic Pouring and Resin with Deidre Morrison is coming up tomorrow, Tuesday 12th February, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

For the Acrylic Pouring Deidre will demonstrate how to combine acrylic paint and mediums to be able to watch the cells on your masterpiece come to life. Explore fun and addictive techniques of ‘dirty pours’, ‘flip cups’ and ‘puddle pours’.

Art Resin is a safe and easy to use, wonderfully creative medium that anyone can use to get amazing results every time. It can be used to enhance and decorate many different surfaces and items such as art canvases, cheese boards, coasters, trays and furniture.

Deidre Morrison is an artist and an art teacher. She holds a Diploma in Art Education and co-owns Richmond Art Supplies, the Art Shop in the main street of Richmond NSW.

Deidre is proficient with many mediums – oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastel, pencil, charcoal, screen-prints, drawing, illustration, murals, posters, print making, printed cloth, greeting cards and crafting.

Deidre runs regular workshops in Acrylic Pouring and Resin techniques at Richmond Art Supplies.

Both members and non members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

Our First Open Day for 2019 is on 6th February

Our first Open Day for 2019 is on Wednesday 6th February from 10am to 4pm.

At the moment we think this Open Day will be at our current home Yarramundi Community Center, however there is a possible new premises in Richmond that we are looking at.

The 29th Combined Arts Societies of Sydney “Art of Sydney” Awards is on again from 23rd to 27th January 2019.

The Art of Sydney Awards is an annual celebration showcasing the wonderful diversity of Sydney’s leading local artists and features over 300 artworks from 14 Art Societies around Sydney and the Wider Sydney Basin.

Admission is FREE

Monthly Meeting Christmas Show & Tell 11th Dec 2018

Join us for our Year End Celebration!

We have our Monthly Meeting Tuesday, 11th December at 7.30pm.

We look forward to seeing you all at our end of year celebration to join us for Christmas festivities. We have some fun activities planned, a lucky door prize and we look forward every year to our Members Show & Tell and hearing what you have been up to.

Members attending are asked to bring in some item(s) from your year, or anything of interest that you would like to show the group. An artwork or 2 of your own or an acquisition, or any other interesting item or story. Perhaps an illustrated travel journal, inherited artworks or a trip you might have been on with photos. Each member will talk for a few minutes on their items.

We enjoy hearing what you have been up to!

Please also bring a plate of party food to share 🙂
