Reminder: FOHacaRG ‘Quilt-Art: a new concept’ From 12th – 13th June 2021

Reminder: Celebrating FOHacaRG’s 32nd Anniversary
‘Quilt – Art: a new concept’ Exhibition
12th – 13th June 2021

Reminding all that members of the community are warmly welcomed to attend Friends of the Hawkesbury Art Community & Regional Gallery Inc Exhibition ‘Quilt – Art:  a new concept’ on 12th-13th June for an opportunity to view the talents of an unrecognised local textile artisan whose work will hang together with other artist’s images inspired by the colour palettes of the textiles.

North Richmond resident Mrs. Pauline Berry has generously agreed to the public showing of some of her favourite creations. The wall hangings and quilts are motivated by her love of Japanese fabric, and the challenge to span the gulf between the concept of Oriental & Western beauty.

Members of FOHacaRG will provide complimentary art works which will be available for sale on a “Cash & Carry” basis.

Open from 9am—3pm Saturday & Sunday the 12th & 13th, the exhibition will be displayed in the Stan Stevens Studio, The Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor.

The Anniversary celebration is tomorrow Saturday, 12th June 2021. Opening drinks will be served at 11am.

The rivalry between Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso is one of the most significant stories of modern art, and it is this story that the National Gallery is telling this summer in its major exhibition Matisse Picasso.

Drawn from some forty important international collections, Matisse Picasso shows how these two pioneers of modern art mined each other’s work to enhance their own and shared the need to confront the challenges set by the paintings of Paul Cézanne.
