Monthly Demonstration Meeting with Dan Moulton – Naive Art 7.30pm, 14th May 2024
We are looking forward to having Dan Moulton for our monthly meeting on Tuesday, 14th May 2024, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Room, Deerubbin Center Windsor.
In his demonstration, Dan will showcase his techniques in creating Naive art.
Both members and non-members are welcome to join our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.
Cost is $5 at the door. Supper is provided and please remember to park outside due to early car park closure.
About Dan Moulton:
Dan Moulton is happily married to Sarah and the father of three gorgeous young girls.
Encouraged from a young age in his sketching, Dan often gravitated to the visual image as a way to express ideas with a particular love of vibrant colour, paper mediums and black pen on paper.
Pursuing a graphic design degree with the aim to specialise in illustration, through his 20’s Dan fell in love with coloured inks as his primary medium- giving an intensity of colour on paper that he couldn’t quite walk away from.
During his mid 20’s Dan held three solo exhibitions which wove themes of whimsical simplicity, truthful spirituality alongside an invitation to come and enjoy the odd world that sometimes swam inside his head.
Making a conscious decision around 25 to put his art aside to pursue other aspects of life up till about 7 years ago, he felt it was time to jump in again. These days Dan’s enjoyment in the art practice is a refined version of what he has always loved about art.
The joy of chewing on an artistic idea that drifts across his mind and somehow is scribbled down in a random diary, the hard work of bringing to paper a vague version of that original spark, and then sending it out into the world to be free to find a home. Always hoping to bring a bit of happiness, peace and rest, and at times inspire the consideration of how big and astonishing life is.
He still has an insatiable love of paper, the ferocious intensity of coloured inks and feels most at home with a black pen and a diary nearby.
