Elizabeth Teo carves lovely ‘white line’ drawings in her lino. She concentrates on getting a beautiful, even ink covering on her prints. Elizabeth’s ideas are usually birds, creatures, leaves and seeds from nature.
Ann Chilman enjoys experimenting. She prints on many different papers and even on music sheets. In many of her prints she carves a white background. Ann loves using different inks and also printing cards.
Sheila Sharp enjoys printing in more than one colour, either using several different plates or ‘reducing’ a single plate.

Monthly Demonstration Meeting 12th July – Dario Falzon – Yarramundi Landscape in Oils

This month, we are pleased to welcome Dario Falzon to our monthly meeting for Tuesday, 12th July, 7:30 pm at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Dario will demonstrate ‘A Yarramundi Landscape in Oils’.

Dario-with-Artwork_June-2016-resizedDario was born in Bogota, Colombia and brought to Australia at 8 weeks old by his adopted Australian parents. Growing up in Western Sydney, primarily around the Hawkesbury area as a kid he was always drawing, everything from He-Man to Star Wars. If he didn’t have pen and paper in hand it was an odd occurrence. This continued through much of his youth along with a strong interest in music and hip hop in particular.

In his late twenties Dario felt that he needed a creative change. His artistic expression came full circle when he enrolled in a community college course studying the basics of art. Shortly thereafter he found the Julian Ashton Art School. It was around this point in time that he began to fully appreciate an interest in landscape painting and began to seek out specific artists and workshops that could help develop skills.

A connection to nature is something that is important and part of his heritage. Art is a way to express this and share with others his appreciation.
