‘Art of Sydney’ MTAS Winners – 25 to 28 January 2018

We are very pleased to advise that MTAS has shown well in the Combined Art Societies of Sydney Art of Sydney Awards this year. Around 435 paintings were entered and MTAS artists were successful in Sections 2,3,4 and 5.

Gloria Galvin was the Winner of Section 2, Water Medium, with her painting ‘Collector’s Corner’ and Joy Myers Creed won Section 3 Drawing and Mixed Media with ‘Comfortable Connection’. Other awards were to Julie Simmons, Penelope Oates, Deidre Morrison, Kym Morris, Patricia Latta and Mellissa Read-Devine.

Monthly Demonstration Meeting 9th May – John Hockney – Presentation on David Hockney

This month, we are pleased to welcome John Hockney to our monthly meeting for Tuesday, 9th May, 7:30 pm at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

John will present a talk on his brother ‘David Hockney’.

A lavishly illustrated talk of the artistic life of David Hockney from his childhood to his current obsession with I-Pad.

The 75min talk captures with humour the story of young Hockney – his family – and Hockney’s thirst for knowledge and experimentation with genres to his present day 80th retrospective at Tate Britain.

CASS Art of Sydney Exhibition

The Combined Art Societies hold their Annual Art of Sydney Awards Exhibition for members in January each year. In 2017 it will be once again at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour from the 26th January until 29th January.

The Awards presentation will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday 28th January at the exhibition.
