Our next Paint Along Open Day for members and guests at our new venue, Musson Lane is tomorrow, Wednesday 16th October from 10am – 4pm.

Bring your materials and join us for some painting, sketching, watching art DVD’s, and crafting.

Mingle and create with like minded art enthusiasts.

Share your interests while learning more about art and the artists in our area.

Morning and afternoon tea is provided. Bring your own lunch.

The Exhibition continues on
Saturday 26th, 10:00am – 7:00pm
and Sunday 27th, 10:00am – 4:00pm

Reminder: Hawkesbury Art Fair – Friday, 13th September

Hawkesbury Art Fair

Opening on Friday, 13th September 2019

A reminder that we have entries in the Hawkesbury Art Fair at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery  that is opening this Friday and runs through 13th September to 13th October 2019.

You are invited from 6pm – 8pm on Friday 13th September for the opening of the annual Hawkesbury Art Fair by Deputy Mayor of Hawkesbury, Clr Barry Calvert.

The Art Fair features the best traditional and contemporary artists, designers and crafters living and working in the Hawkesbury, as well as guest artists and students.
This once-a-year event is when the gallery becomes a showcase for the wealth of creativity  in our beautiful region.
It’s also an opportunity for local artists to sell their work, and for you to buy original art from some of the region’s most accomplished and collectible artists.

St John’s Anglican Church Wilberforce on Saturday, 14th September from 8.30am – 2.00pm.

There will be loads of activities and stalls such as garage sale, plants, food & drinks,
kid’s activities, entertainment, and many more.

Reminder: Annual General Meeting & Guest Speaker Kath Von Witt – Hawkesbury Regional Gallery – Tuesday 10th September

Reminding everyone that our monthly meeting for September will be on Tuesday 10th, and will be our Annual General Meeting, followed by guest speaker Kath Von Witt representing the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery and what it is doing for art and our community.

The Regional Gallery is a center for the Hawkesbury’s artistic and creative heritage while showcasing new and original exhibitions. Offering Public programs including artists talks, classes and workshops for all ages, adults and children.

The AGM is Tuesday, 10th September, 7.30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

The AGM will start at 7.30pm and Kath Von Witt will follow after.

Our Art Society is run by volunteers and the dedicated committee has worked very hard through this year.

A big thank you to those who have helped!

We need new people to step up to help run the Society.

Please consider helping with the roles listed below.

If you, a friend or family member can assist please speak up and volunteer. You do not need to be an artist yourself to fill these roles, but some interest in art and craft is welcomed.

We have a new home this year at Musson Lane in Richmond and we look forward to the future with many successful artistic endeavours to come.

Don’t forget we need members present to vote as well!

All positions will be declared vacant on the night and anyone who needs more information on any of the roles before hand please email or call our secretary Pat on 0415 200 446.

Come along and learn from Stephen’s beautiful techniques in creating realistic oil paintings.

In his work Stephen pursues areas which have always captured his imagination – the light, colour, shape and texture of the Australian natural environment.

This exhibit includes the 1872 work,
Impression, Sunrise that coined the name of the popular art movement.

This masterpiece together with the some forty impressionist and related paintings from the Marmottan, the Tate, and Australian and New Zealand collections is coming to the NGA.

The works reveal the formative characteristics of Impressionism-depiction of light, purer colour and capturing the momentary view- by a new generation of artists who abandoned their studios for the world outside.

This is an exciting opportunity to see a masterful exhibition of works
that became emblematic of a cultural movement.


Reminder: Acrylic Painting Workshop with Chris Seale 14th July

Reminding everyone that we will have a full day Acrylic Painting Workshop 10am  – 3pm with Chris Seale on the 14th of July.

Come along and learn from Chris’s beautiful technique’s and clever tricks using Acrylics.

Chris has been winning awards for her work for many years now and is well known for her unique style, creativity and inspiration that she brings to the art world.

She is particularly known for her beautiful contemporary-impressionistic bush land and seascapes. Chris has many feature articles in the Australian and International Artist Magazines, and has been acclaimed for works in all mediums. Her work is well represented in many private and corporate collections around the globe.

Over the years, Chris has developed a myriad of unique techniques, had many solo and joint exhibitions; is privileged to have been frequently requested as artist in residence and has also presented numerous live demonstrations at various art events, including our own MTAS meetings.

Monthly Demonstration Meeting 11th June
Frank Hodgert – Oil Painting

Reminding everyone that we will have Frank Hodgert with us to demonstrate Oil Painting at our next monthly meeting on 11th June, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Frank, who has taught art as well as many workshops and demonstrations, has had an interest in painting and drawing since childhood.

Frank has always had the yearning to draw and paint.

His outlet in his early days was as a colour etcher in photo engraving and lithography, which is a part of the printing trade. And also working in the graphic arts industry.

Over the years he has attended many workshops to hone his skills and has won many awards for his work. Working brilliantly in many mediums, Frank will show us his wonderful skills in Oils for this demo.

Both Members and Non Members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

Entry is $5 for MTAS members and visitors (includes supper)
