Online Art Challenge: November 2021 “Freedom”

As you may have noticed in our Newsletter for November, our MTAS online Art Challenge theme for this month is “Freedom.” You can make any kind of art you like for this theme. Any medium… even digital. 🙂

This challenge is for your own work and not a replication inspired by another artist’s work. Works can be for sale if you would like. Not for sale is ok too.

Please include any important accompanying details: Title, Size, Medium, and if it is for sale, please include the price.

Submissions for the challenge will close 30th November 2021.

Musson Lane Gallery Open 6th November 2021

Musson Lane Gallery OPEN Saturday!
6th November 10am – 4pm

MTAS Gallery at Musson Lane is open this Saturday!

Come down and visit the gallery to view our beautiful local art and crafts.

Lots of original art for your walls and lovely hand made gifts for your friends, family, or yourself, all made by local Australian artists.

You can view and purchase unique local paintings, pottery, jewellery, resin crafts, and more every Saturday from 10am – 4pm.

The address is Unit 2, 1 Musson Lane, Richmond, NSW 2753.

Visit the Gallery to meet some of the artists on duty and join in with your local art community!

Social distancing and Covid safe practices are in place. This includes Double Vaccine proof for entry.

Musson Lane Paint Along Open Day Tomorrow 3rd Nov

Musson Lane Paint Along Open Day is on Tomorrow
Wednesday, 3rd November from 10am to 4pm

A reminder that Musson Lane Paint Along Open Day is tomorrow Wednesday 3rd of November 10am to 4pm.

We have COVID Safe measures and social distancing in place.

Please provide Proof of Double Vaccination when you attend – either digital or on paper.

We have hand sanitiser and wipes, BYO mask. We have enough space and rooms for people to decently spread out to allow for safe distancing 1.5m apart with current legislation.
All surfaces are regularly sanitised and wiped down.

Please bring your own food. We have tea, coffee, etc an oven and a microwave in our kitchen. All are cleaned & sanitised after use.

Enjoy the company of fellow art enthusiasts, you can bring a project, art, craft, or any hobby.
You can watch or paint along with our DVD collection as well.

Members and guests are welcome.

CASS Christmas Sale 2021

CASS Christmas Sale 2021

The Combined Arts Societies Of Sydney (CASS) is inviting it’s members to enter their online Christmas exhibition sale. MTAS is a member of CASS and therefore all our Members are eligible to enter!

Entry forms are available at www.cassartonline.com and the sale will be open from 6th December to 9th January. PLEASE NOTE: This is password protected for Members only so please contact info [@] mtas.com.au if you would like to enter and we will pass you the password!

Framed and unframed works may be entered and the fee is $5 per work (very small paintings as a pair or larger works as a diptych count as one entry)

All work has a maximum sale price of $450 to include postage / delivery in NSW.

We look forward to seeing how creative everyone is in joining in with the Christmas spirit!

The Hawkesbury Art Fair From 8th Nov – 5th Dec 2021

The Hawkesbury Art Fair
8th Nov – 5th Dec 2021

The Hawkesbury Art Fair is back! We are so please to announce the Hawkesbury Art Fair, run by The Regional Gallery in Windsor, which features work by our local Hawkesbury Artists will be on 8th November until the 5th of December.

It is an opportunity for the local artists to exhibit and sell their work, and for residents and visitors to the area to buy original art from the region’s best-known accomplished and up-and-coming artists.

A range of organisations are showcased in the Art Fair and this year will include the Macquarie Towns Arts Society, Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop, Piggery Lane Studios, Hawkesbury Artists and Artisans Trail, Hawkesbury Camera Club, and Ferry Studio Artists.

Oil Painting with Dario Falzon

We are very happy to have Dario Falzon back Painting in Oils for our next Monthly Meeting and Demonstration on Tuesday, 9th November, 7:30pm. Unfortunately due to the Stan Stevens Studio not being open as yet and current Musson Lane number restrictions, we will be having this demonstration via Zoom.

As a child Dario was always drawing and if he didn’t have pen and paper in hand it was an odd occurrence. This continued through much of his youth along with a strong interest in music and hip hop in particular.

In his late twenties he enrolled in a community college course studying the basics of art. Shortly thereafter he found the Julian Ashton Art School. It was around this point in time that he began to fully appreciate an interest in landscape painting and began to seek out specific artists and workshops that could develop his skills.

A connection to nature is something that is important and part of his heritage. Art is a way to express this and share with others his appreciation.

Musson Lane Paint Along Open Day is Back!
Wednesday, 20th October from 10am to 4pm

It is with great pleasure we announce the reopening of Musson Lane for our Members with our next MTAS Paint Along Open Day next Wednesday the 20th of October from 10am to 4pm.

This will be under COVID Safe measures and social distancing.

Reminder this Tuesday 12th of October at 7.30pm we have our Monthly Meeting where Deidre Morrison will Demonstrate Oil Painting a “Hawkesbury River Scene.” This will be delivered via Zoom.

Deidre Morrison has been in the Hawkesbury as an artist and art teacher for the last 30 years. Holding a Diploma in Art Education and co-owning Richmond Art Supplies Art Shop in the main street of Richmond, Deidre loves to share her creativity with the art community in the area.

Deidre is proficient with many mediums – oils, watercolour, acrylics, pastel, pencil, charcoal, screen-prints, drawing, illustration, murals, posters, print making and crafting.

Join us to watch how Deidre paints her beautiful water scenes and imparts some of her brilliant skills to us as she demonstrates.
