NOTICE: MTAS Response to COVID-19

Dear Members,

No doubt you are all aware of the rapidly changing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a consequence of the stronger message from the Government and the Department of Health in trying to contain the spread of the disease, the committee have, sadly, decided to cancel upcoming events in the interests of your well-being and that of our community.

Wednesday Open Days at Musson Lane will not be scheduled after this week until further notice. The Saturday Gallery, which we had just started to get going, will be closed, effective from today until further notice. Our demonstrations for April and May are cancelled, although we have been fortunate to re-book Taryn Malzard for the July meeting – hopefully the world will have righted itself sufficiently by then!

The Children’s After School classes will not be held from next week and the Easter School Holiday Workshops are cancelled. Life Drawing and Portrait groups are cancelled for April.

Saddest perhaps of all we are cancelling our Autumn exhibition. We will instead make the Spring Affair exhibition a members award event.

I’m very sorry that we are taking this route but the committee feel a duty of care that demands these measures in the interests of yourselves and the community. We will try and keep the online presence active and interesting. If you have any contributions to make – stories, pictures of the work you would otherwise have entered into the Autumn exhibition, send them in to info [@] mtas.com.au

We will monitor the situation and advice of any further changes.

Keep safe and well.

Thank you,

Kym Morris (President) and the MTAS committee.
