Monthly Demonstration Meeting 13th June – Hiren Patel – Sydney Street Scene in Oils

In June, we are pleased to welcome Hiren Patel to our monthly meeting for Tuesday, 13th June, 7:30 pm at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Hiren will demonstrate a ‘Sydney Street Scene in Oils’.

Born in India and living in Sydney, Hiren Patel studied and worked as an Engineer until he stumble on the Art Gallery of NSW. His interest in art sparked again, which was buried deep since childhood and started studying art and practicing painting.

Hiren has been exhibiting in Sydney for the last 10 years. He primarily paints urban landscapes which portray the mood, atmosphere and activity of the scene. He chooses to paint with oil paints for their versatility as they can be exploited by using different viscosity and drying times. In fact, their possibilities are endless. His paint methods are based on the 19th and 20th century realists and impressionists. Good design, composition and dramatic light are the most important aspects of his work.

You can see more of Hiren’s work here:
