Reminder: We are very excited to have John Wilson demonstrating in Oils for our next demonstration on Tuesday, 8th June, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio at 300 George st Windsor.

Register your attendance at info [@] mtas.com.au to see John’s beautiful work being demonstrated.

With CovidSafe practices in place, please make sure you register your attendance for in person at the Stan Stevens Studio.

Please note we will not be doing a Zoom for this demonstration so you will need to let us know you are attending please.

About John Wilson: 

John Wilson is one of Australia’s leading oil painters. He grew up in the beautiful Blue Mountains of NSW. He is a multi-award winning artist whose works capture the unique and more elusive qualities of Australian landscapes.

John’s paintings can be found in private, corporate and public collections throughout Australia and internationally. He is also a fellow of The Royal Art Society of NSW, and the patron of the Society of Mountain Artists.

Both Members and Non Members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

This weekend we have our All Day Pastel Workshop, Sunday 20th March with Taryn Malzard.

Non Members of the Arts Society are most welcome to attend also.

Workshop will be all day and covering “Animals in Pastels”

Date: Sunday 20th March
Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm
Venue: Yarramundi Community Centre, 54 Thornbill Way, Nepean Park Estate (off Springwood Rd)
Cost: $50 Members, $55 Non-members
Morning & Afternoon Tea Provided, BYO lunch.

Materials list will be provided closer to the date. A $10 deposit can secure a place in this workshop and full payment by or on the day.

Taryn’s award winning pastel artworks are notorious for their vast subject matter, vitality and realism. Her love of portraiture and the exploration of capturing character and personality gives her portrait work a life of their own. Taryn teaches regular term and workshop classes and welcomes new students of any level of ability.

Monthly Meeting Demonstration 8th March – Kasey Sealy – Landscape in Oils

Kasey-sealy-profile-monthly-meeting-and-demo-mtasThis month, we are very pleased to welcome renowned painter Kasey Sealy to our monthly meeting for Tuesday, March the 8th, 7:30 pm at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Kasey will be demonstrating a Landscape in Oils.

Born in Forbes in 1961, Kasey began painting at the age of 17 yrs in 1978, and has painted professionally since 1980.

Kasey has won numerous awards and has painted in many countries including UK, France, Venice, Italy and USA. Also running regular painting tours abroad you can paint along side the master when you travel with Kasey on these tours.

Monthly Meeting & Demonstration – 9th June: John Rice – Traditional Landscape In Oils

John Rice painting from The Terraces smallThis month we are pleased to welcome John Rice to our Monthly Meeting for June Tuesday the 9th at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

John will be doing a Traditional Landscape In Oils, subject will be gum trees.

John is an energetic outdoor painter who works almost exclusively in oils and is stimulated by the strong light of the Australian landscape. He is particularly enthusiastic about the Hawkesbury and Nepean districts to The Central West artistically.

He enjoys painting the landscape from life, “en plein air”, and engages in regular painting trips to country locations. (more…)
