We have a few places left for our Pastel Workshop with Greg Hansell this Sunday, 2nd May. Please let us know asap if you would like to come along.

We are excited to have a full day with Greg on 2nd May, 10am – 4pm and experience his wonderful skills with Pastels. His own hand made pastels will feature in this workshop also.

Greg’s broad experience over many years always brings much insight and expertise in relation to composition, perspective and the use of the pastel medium.

In the morning Greg plans for the group to do a still life inside the Stan Steven’s studio to get started, and then weather permitting in the afternoon we will go outside the Deerubbin center into the garden and do some Plein Air.

Join us for a great opportunity to enjoy working with this gifted artist, meet with other like minded artists and hone your pastel skills, beginner to advanced.

Monthly Demonstration Meeting 10th April – Greg Hansell – Painting/Perspective

We are very happy to have talented artist Greg Hansell demonstrating Painting/Perspective at our monthly meeting for Tuesday, 10th April, 7:30 pm at the Stans Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Greg Hansell was born in Goulburn, NSW, and now lives on the historic Peninsula area of Windsor, and many of the sites he has painted are within walking distance from his studio overlooking the Hawkesbury River.

Greg has been a full-time artist since 1980 in the traditionalist or realist school of Australian painting. His medium is pastel and he uses a combination of handmade earth pastels and Schmincke pastels. His Earth Pastels are ” hand made only from rocks and clays with no commercial pigment, binder or additive used in their manufacture. (Their) Permanence has been tested to the ultimate rating”.

Hansell is a fellow of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales and his paintings are represented in corporate and academic collections.

Both members and non members are welcome to join us for our meetings to view an inspirational artist at work each month, as well as the opportunity to enjoy networking with like-minded art enthusiasts.

Entry is $5 for MTAS members and visitors (includes supper)
