Monthly Meeting & Demonstration 9th October – Joe Cartwright – Watercolour

We are very happy to have Joe Cartwright with us to demonstrate Painting in Watercolour at our next monthly meeting Tuesday 9th October, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Joe has been painting with watercolour since 1998.

His paintings cover a wide range of subjects including portraits, seascapes, landscape, flowers, wildlife and townscapes.

He has been exhibiting at regional and National art shows over this period at which he has sold over 300 hundred paintings and received over 90 awards. In 2009 Joe won the John Copes Watercolour Prize. The Australian Artist Magazine has published his articles on two occasions as has The Artists Palette Magazine.

Joe has a published book titled, “Mastering Watercolours – a practical guide.”

He is a member of the Macquarie Towns Arts Society as well as the Nepean Art Society at which he teaches watercolour and runs regular workshops.

Our Next Yarramundi Open Day on 5th September 2018

Our next regular Yarramundi Open Day will be Wednesday 5th September from 10am to 4pm if members and guests would like to join us.

The address is: Yarramundi Community Centre, 54 Thornbill Way, Nepean Park Estate, Yarramundi (on the way up to Springwood)

Come along and enjoy our fantastic venue and inspirational surrounds for painting, sketching, watching art DVD’s or any medium you would like to use.

Mix with like minded art enthusiasts and share your interests while learning more about art and artists in your area.

Upcoming Dates for our Open Days are twice a month on a Wednesday:

5th & 16th September, 3rd & 17th October and 7th & 21st November

Annual General Meeting & Guest Speaker Kerri Ainsworth – Art Travel Adventures – 11th September 7:30 pm

In September, we have our Annual General Meeting followed by guest speaker Kerri Ainsworth to talk about ART Travel Adventures.

The AGM is on Tuesday, 11th September, 7.30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

Proceedings this year will start at 7.30pm and then Kerri Ainsworth will follow after.

As you know, our Art Society is run by volunteers and our dedicated committee has worked very hard through the year to keep things going. A big thank you to those who have helped this year!

We are in need of new people to step up to help run the Society. We would love to see some more members helping out with the roles listed below.

If you or a friend or family member can assist please let us know. You do not need to be an artist yourself to fill these roles, but some interest in art and craft is welcomed.

We want the Arts Society to continue into the future with
many successful artistic endeavours to come, so please consider filling a role!

And don’t forget we need members present to vote!

All positions will be declared vacant on the night and anyone who needs more information before hand can email info@mtas.com.au or call Narelle on 02 4565 9222.

After the AGM we have Kerri Ainsworth – ART Travel Adventures

Kerri will discuss ART Travel Adventures.

Kerri Ainsworth is the principal of Art Travel Adventures. A Production Designer and Creative Director with over 25 years’ experience working in film, television and the events industries. The scope of her practice includes designing and project managing the fabrication and installation of large-scale artworks and environments for special events and public spaces.

ART Travel Adventures is a boutique art and travel company, which combines immersive cultural experiences, with art workshops in exotic locations.

They bring together master artists, skilled travel guides and local experts and include sumptuous accommodation, in historic buildings, with adventures in dining, cultural festivals and art workshops.

This includes art workshops in picturesque locations around Australia with high profile artists, to travelling to exotic overseas locations with the artist.

The inspiration behind ART Travel Adventures was to create an artist’s community; a space where creative people can learn, experiment and network.

Her workshops cater for those who want to expand their art practice, share ideas with others and meet like-minded people.

Major Used Frame Sale at Warwick Fuller’s Studio – Saturday – 29th September

Major used Frame sale at Warwick Fuller’s Studio. 306 Megalong place, Kanimbla on Saturday 29th September. The sale is strictly 2pm to 4pm, no early arrivals please.

Over 100 quality Frames priced from $20 to $60 each, some new, some used but good, some for studio use. Sizes range from 8″ x 12″ to 24″ x 36″ plus a few very big frames and a few surprises.

Warwick is happy to show guests his studio where his fabulous paintings are created on the day.

Tea and Coffee will be provided.

Reminder: Monthly Meeting – Tuesday, 14th August John Perkins – Painting in Oils

Reminding all that our next Monthly Meeting ‘Painting a landscape in Oils’ with revered artist John Perkins is coming up on Tuesday 14th August, 7:30pm at the Stan Stevens Studio, Deerubbin Centre, George St, Windsor.

John has become a well-known artist with his work represented both nationally and internationally. Sought after as a demonstrator and Art Judge for exhibitions, he has been an art Tutor for over 35 years. A regular at the Mitchell School of Arts Bathurst, Grafton Arts Fest & Combined Art Societies Art in Action.

John is a Fellow and President of the Royal Art Society of NSW, former President and Life Member of Drummoyne Art Society, Honorary Member of Lane Cove Art Society and Inaugural President of the Combined Art Societies of Sydney.

John is widely recognised as a traditional oil artist specialising in Still Life and Landscape paintings, he has, however, over the years pursued various other subjects – this has led to him being renowned for his Marine and Streetscape paintings.
